Typical 2KD-FTV malfunctions and their causes

Common Rail injector wear

Causes: low fuel quality, fuel system contamination, natural wear.

Symptoms: difficult starting, unstable operation, increased fuel consumption, smoke.

 

Turbocharging problems

Causes: turbine bearing wear, turbine geometry clogged with soot.

Symptoms: loss of power, boost error, smoke during acceleration.

 

EGR system clogging

Causes: operation at low speeds, low-quality fuel, soot.

Symptoms: loss of traction, increased consumption, errors in the recirculation system.

 

Engine overheating

Causes: cooling system malfunction (radiator, pump, thermostat), antifreeze leak.

Symptoms: increased temperature, risk of cracks in the cylinder head.

 

Wear of the high-pressure fuel pump

Causes: poor quality diesel fuel, insufficient lubrication.
